3 part carbonless forms give you an original and two copies at the close of a transaction and provide immediate proof of it. Shops use these full-page 3 part NCR forms for invoices, sales receipts, sales order forms, packing lists of items shipped, insurance forms, medical reports, expense reports, account statements, and return forms. Line items, totals, and signatures land on every page of these forms at once, which cuts administrative costs.

Each color has a job, and color coding keeps record keeping clear. A common split: white goes to customers, you forward canary to accounting for the account file, and pink stays in the book for filing purposes. Many shops customize the form design to print the routing and a form number on each color, so staff know where to forward every copy.

How to Print and Pad 3 Part Carbonless Forms

Reverse sequence works great on sheetfed offset presses: load the ream pink side up, and the pink sheet prints first and lands face up at the bottom of the delivery, so each set stacks with white on top. On a digital printer or copier, load the ream to match your device's delivery options and print a few test forms of your design the first time.

How hard you write will affect how clearly the third part comes through, so use a ballpoint pen and firm pressure. Padding is the final step: pad finished forms along one edge with fan-apart glue from our padding materials and glue collection, and the stack fans apart into clean individual forms.

Reverse vs. Straight Sequence

Both sequences make the same finished forms, white on top. Only the color order in the ream changes. Straight stacks the white sheets first, and reverse goes the other way, pink sheets first.
